Smith
v. Smith. [MSWord]
Oregon Supreme Court opinion limiting child support guidelines
designed for welfare cases to welfare cases. Also states that
child support should not be so burdensome as to deny the obligor
the ability to meet basic living needs. While this ruling
pre-dates presumptive guidelines, it is still commonly cited
as a watershed statement of fundamental principles to which
any child support law must adhere.
